INTELLECTUAL MYSTERY. “In reality, the laborer belongs to capital before he has sold himself to capital,” a famous quote from the book Das Kapital, written by Karl Marx. The 1392 page book, Das Kapital, is Ian’s favorite book he has read throughout his high school career. This book really shows Ian’s love for economics and intelligence for the subject.
Ian Juda William Caswell was born in Marysville, Kansas. He comes from a very intelligent family of five: his mother Victoria, his father Phillip, his eldest brother Elijah, and his other older brother Sam. If you know Ian, he is a very quiet but passionate individual. Although he may be quiet in school, he is nothing short of brilliant. When Ian is not in school you can often find him reading books, researching economics, widening his knowledge in the government aspect of life, or sleeping. When Ian was asked what is something fun that not many people know about him he said, “I have two middle names, that is unlike others.”
Ian has been involved with a few things throughout his high school career. He was a member of the robotics club along with guitar and vocal. Ian talked highly about his experience in Senior English as well. “I loved the persuasive paper and speech we had to do this year. I did my paper on how I believe Capitalism is built off exploitation.” Ian has always excelled in school and he has a bright future ahead of him.
Ian’s future plans are to attend Kansas University in Lawrence, Kansas to major in either Philosophy or Political Science. Ten years down the road Ian says he hopes to be living a successful life.
