START TO THE SEASON. This past Friday night, the Valley Heights Mustang football team traveled to Clay Center and competed in a Jamboree. Our football team took on Clay Center, Riley County, and Republic County. Senior football player, Logan Gray said, “I think that we saw a lot of different looks and it helped us see a lot of the small details that we can tidy up before we face Centralia week one.” He also added, “Offensively, everyone on the field needs to focus in and know what they’re supposed to be doing every single play for the best results. As for defense, we need to not only know what we’re supposed to be doing but what the person next to us is doing so we are able to succeed on both sides of the ball.”
When we asked Assistant Coach Tommy Tryon the same question, he said, "I think we held our own against some more advanced offenses and defenses. All in all we did pretty well.”
