Winning with Faith. FCA stands for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. FCA first started in 1954 in Norm, Oklahoma. It is an organization where coaches and athletes can spread their faith about Christ.
FCA officially took off at Valley Heights in 2008 when Mrs. Steinfort was influenced by her sister. “When we started FCA we did it consistently, every week on Wednesday,” says Steinfort. FCA is student lead but Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Steinfort are the huddle coaches which are supervisors. The students have a leadership team that pick out each week that they want to help. They help with games, lessons, and the prayers. Coming this fall is FCA Camp, where people can come together to spend time with each other, make new friends and spread their faith. Kloee Martin says, “The reason I joined was because I heard it was a Christian group and that it was really fun.”
The next FCA meeting is on September 18th. There will be meal, prayer, lesson, and games. Everyone is welcome to come and learn about the Lord.
