American Flag

A Morning of Remembrance. On November 8th, at 7:30 a.m. the community will gather for a heartfelt breakfast to honor those who have served in the armed forces. Every year the cafeteria is decorated with red, white, and blue for this. The school will come together as stories of bravery and sacrifice are shared. Every year, our very own Kim Oatney, beautifully plays the piano as everyone starts to gather in the gym for an inspirational speech given by a selected veteran. The high school band will play the National Anthem and the high school choir will perform a special piece. Several of our KAY members have a poem prepared for the veterans. Lastly, a Veterans Day video of our elementary students showing their appreciation for retired soldiers will premiere at this event. Every student at Valley Heights is excited for this warm and inviting breakfast. This occasion not only celebrates the sacrifices of these heroes but also strengthens the community, showing how important appreciation and gratitude is.
