ALL THERE, ALL IN. The VHHS forensics team brought home 1st place out of 12 teams, 16 medals, and 13 state qualifiers at the forensics meet at Onaga on Monday, February 10th. With a sweep in prose, the state qualifiers were; Jackson O’Toole 1st, Emma Toerber 2nd, Haylee Whitson 3rd, and Michelle Sandoval with 4th. In poetry, Donavin McClung qualified for state with his 2nd place finish, Mydajah Little 4th, and Cat Toerber 6th. Emma Yungeberg will be going to state with her 2nd place in Informative. In Oration Sam Hardin 1st and Sam Vermetten 2nd will be going to state, while Abigail Steinfort took 5th. Mydajah Little got 2nd in Serious Solo along with a bid for state. In Humorous Solo, Donavin McClung took 3rd and Sam Hardin took 4th. The big battle of the night was between the two Valley Heights IDA teams with the sophomores, Cat Toerber and Emma Yungeberg taking 1st over the junior team of Jackson O’Toole and Emma Toerber with a 2nd place finish.
