FAMILY OVER EVERYTHING. Mack Odell Shanks was born July 23, 2006 to Monty and Cheri Shanks. Mack grew up in the small town of Blue Rapids, Kansas with his older brother Brayden and his older sister Bailey. Mack's favorite quote is “Family over everything.” He first heard it as a kid and it has always stuck with him. Mack's favorite song is “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears. His favorite foods are either mac’ n’ cheese or pizza.
Mack has been involved in Forensics and Golf 1 year; FFA and Vocal 2 years; All School Play 3 years; and KAY, FACS, FCA, Football, and Basketball 4 years. Mack's ideal weekend plans are hanging out with his friends and family. An accomplishment Mack is most proud of is making it to his senior year. One thing people might not know about Mack is that he actually has 2 older siblings.
Mack's parents have always had the biggest impact on him. They showed him what hard work looks like and that hard work will make you successful in the future. A high school memory he will never forget is Mr. Savage's Freshmen/Sophomore English class, when Mack would mess with him all the time. Some advice Mack would like to give to underclassmen is to work hard and fulfill every moment. When Mack leaves this Valley Heights community he wants to be remembered as someone who was nice and caring to the others around him.
After high school, Mack plans to attend college at K-State to pursue a degree in business. His future dreams are to graduate from K-State and become a millionaire. In 10 years, Mack sees himself with a wife and kids, hopefully living in Florida.
