GIRL POWER.

GIRLS GOT SKILLS. It’s Homecoming week and the football field is electric with excitement. Cheerleaders are captivating the crowd with their enthusiasm. The crowd is booming with intensity. But, it’s not your average Homecoming football game.

Wednesday, September 13th marks the day that Powder Puff comes back to Valley Heights High School. The last year there was a powder puff game was 2008. “I think it’s cool because it will bring everyone together and show the girls and boys what it’s like to do what the other gender participates in,” says freshmen, Shyanne Carder. FCA will be sponsoring this event, including a meal by the concessions area and then the game.

The two teams will be made up of Freshmen and Juniors vs. Sophomores and Seniors. The referees and the coaches for the night will be senior boys. “That’s awesome that girls get to experience playing football,” says senior football player, Dalton Joseph. Not only do the girls get to play football, but the boys get to showcase their cheering skills as well.

The public is invited to come and watch the game Wednesday at 6:30 pm. A free will donation will be set up in order to raise money for relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey and Irma.
