THE ENGINE OF THE SCHOOL. “My favorite part of the job is being able to visit with the kids everyday,” said Lori Dobrovolny, VHHS secretary. Mrs. Dobrovolny has been working at Valley Heights for almost 17 years. Before she took over the role as secretary, she was the at-risk coordinator. “I took that job too much to heart because I hated to see the kids fail and I had a bunch that really struggled,” she said. However, before she left the school district, she wanted to try something different. Fortunately, the secretary position was available so she decided to give it a try.
Mrs. Dobrovolny graduated from Marysville High School and got a business degree. “There is a lot of accounting that's behind my job, not just answering phones but keeping track of all the organizations and sports that all run through here,” she said. Mrs. Dobrovolny has a big heart and cares for every student and staff member at Valley Heights. She never fails to put a smile on everyone's faces.
“This is the engine that keeps this building going. She's not going to tell you that but this is the one, it isn't me, it’s her,” said Mrs. Palmgren, principal at Valley Heights.
