Waterville, KS ---- Kloee Martin, a Senior student at Valley Heights High School, has been selected for the Honors Performance Series at Canegie Hall in New York City, New York this next February. Kloee will perform in the Series in their Honors Treble Choir. Participation in the Honors Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated young performers from across the world. Kloee auditioned for the Honors Performance Series and was recently accepted after a review by the Honors Selection Board. Acceptance to the elite group is a direct result of the talent, dedication, and achievements demonstrated in their application and audition recording. Kloee has been interested in music her whole life, and has always been a member of Valley Heights High School Choir, Marching Band, and Pep Band. Since she was nine years old, Kloee has taken singing lessons with her former Band and Music Director. She attended Kansas Lions Band for two years, Concert Band Clinic at Kansas State University for three years, and All-Star Marching Band at Kansas State University for two years. She has been a part of Children's and Adult Handbell Choirs for her church, sang in Church Choir, and Let Them Sing Children's Choir. She has always been a 3.95 GPA student and strives for high academics. In response to her selection, Kloee said, “I am absolutely over the moon to be an Honors Performance Series finalist! Music has always been my passion. Vocal and band have always been my favorite classes in school, and I plan to major in music in college. I have visited New York City when I was 16 and fell in love with it! To perform at Carnegie Hall would be an absolute dream come true! Thank you for this opportunity!" Kloee will join other performers for a special performance at the world-famous Carnegie Hall in New York City, a venue that marks the pinnacle of musical achievement. The finalists will come together in NYC, where they will have the opportunity to learn from world-renowned conductors, work with other performers, rehearse, and sightsee around the city. The Honors Performance will take place February 10. Tickets can be purchased beginning approximately 60 days prior to the performance through the Carnegie Hall box office. “Being selected to the Honors Performance Series is something each Finalist should be extremely proud of accomplishing,” said Marion Gomez, Music Director for the Honors Performance Series. “We processed nearly 10,000 nominations this year and have selected the most talented student performers from around the world. Working with these conductors and performing at these renowned music halls is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that these musicians will never forget.” The Honors Performance Series was created to showcase accomplished individual student performers on an international level by allowing them to study under master conductors and perform in world renowned venues. The Honors Performance Series is proudly presented by WorldStrides, the nation’s leading educational travel organization. Learn more by visiting www.honorsperformance.org and www.worldstrides.com.
